Redington Vapen Red fly rod gets a new vinyl grip
The Redington Vapen Red is a truely distinctive fly rod with its red vinyl grip - a rod that would be hard to lose in a crowd! However after a few years of harsh saltwater use the grip on mine was a bit worse for wear. You can send your rod back to the factory for a replacement OR you can replace it yourself with a vinyl wrap such as used for badminton or tennis rackets. It needs no fancy tools and the tape is self adhesive. The whole process took less than ten minutes and you'll save a lot of money. And you can choose a different colour as well. Hope this encourages any Vapen users facing the prospect of replacing their grip.
