I Was Wrong About E-Bike Racing… | My First E-Enduro
I’ve recently become a big believer in e-bikes, but I was still sceptical about them in a racing context.
At Northwest Tune-Up in Bellingham, I entered the Race Cascadia Galbraith Enduro for my first e-bike race and quickly learned that the motor doesn’t make racing easy, it just changes where the challenge comes from.
The bike was stable and fast through rough terrain, but tighter sections demanded more strength and precision. It also let me fit in more riding, see more of Galbraith and save enough energy to actually enjoy the festival.
The biggest takeaway? Neither form of racing is better. They’re simply different tools for different jobs.
This won't be the last time you see me race an e-bike and it definitely won't be the last time you see me race an enduro bike either
