how to boot from a flash drive, usb media, bios, boot menu
📒 VIDEO DESCRIPTION.
Hello! You are on the channel Danil passage of games! In this video, I will tell you how to boot from a USB device, for example, in order to install Windows or another operating system. And I will also explain how to configure the BIOS of your computer so that the operating system installed on an external USB drive, for example, such as an android for a PC, starts its loading immediately after turning on the computer. And so we get started. In order to boot from an external USB device without first setting bios, you can use the boot menu. The boot menu is a list of devices, including those connected to the USB port of your PC. Where you have the opportunity to select a device, for example, in order to start the operating system from it. To load the boot menu, immediately after turning on the computer, press the button programmed by the manufacturer on the keyboard. For example, on my Lenovo laptop, the boot menu is called up by pressing the F12 button, and the F8, F11, F2 and Esc buttons can also be used quite often. In order to find out which button you need, you can simply type a search query on the Internet, indicating the manufacturer of your motherboard or laptop. After you have opened the boot menu, all you have to do is select the device from which you want to boot. Now let's imagine a situation when your computer already has an installed operating system, and there is also, for example, an external hard drive connected to a USB port. On the connected external hard drive, there is also another operating system, let's say an android for a PC. And you have a need for some time to work in the operating system installed on an external drive. In order not to constantly call up the boot menu, you can set the appropriate boot priority in the BIOS of your computer. In order to get into the BIOS, immediately after starting the PC, press the button programmed by the manufacturer. Which one can be found by typing the appropriate query on the Internet. On my Lenovo laptop, the F2 button is responsible for entering the BIOS. The BIOS on different devices may look different, but the algorithm for setting the boot priority on all devices is similar. I'll show you how to set the boot priority using my BIOS as an example. I boot into the BIOS and select the boot tab, then we need the Boot Device Priority section, it is in it that we will set the device startup priority. In the list of devices, we find the one from which we plan to boot for some time, and raise it to the very top where it becomes the first. In order to raise or lower the device in the list in my BIOS, I used the F5, F6 buttons. In some more recent BIOSes, it is sometimes possible to move devices in the list using the mouse. To save the set priority, you need to press F10 and then the Enter button. Now I want to clarify the situation when, having launched the boot menu in the list, you do not see your device, while it is connected and working properly. In order to fix this, you need to enter the BIOS, then go to the configuration tab and find Legacy USB Support in the list, make sure that enable is selected opposite it, otherwise if you have disabled USB devices selected in the boot menu, you may not be displayed. Dear friend, if this video turned out to be useful for you, like it, and also subscribe to the channel. Good luck to everyone, see you soon.
