MD G-Zero (Test)
So this is "F-Zero" on the Sega Megadrive... wait, what!?
Is such a thing even possible without the SNES hardware assistance for all the Mode 7 shenanigans? Well, kinda... Homebrew hero gasega68k has released a test prototype ROM of "G-Zero"with "G" as in "Genesis" and I must say to be truly impressed with his work so far. Compromising just enough, with the track tiles running at half the SNES original resolution and running at half the frames-per-second, what we have here is a pretty solid framework of "F-Zero" running on Sega's mighty 16-bit hardware! Truly impressive stuff, just wait till I hit the megaturbo on the second lap.
