This video provides a broad overview of vulnerability scanning using Nessus. We define what a vulnerability is, why we run vulnerability scans, and what information vulnerability scans provide. We also demonstrate an actual vulnerability scan on a network, paying particular attention to the results provided and their interpretation, as well as external resources. We also discuss the very important consideration of knowing when it's legal and potentially illegal to use vulnerability scanning.
The intended audiences for this video include high school, community college, and lower-level university students who are interested in, or participating in, cybersecurity, information technology, or associated programs.
