To make a password protected document in Microsoft Word, follow these steps:
Open the Word document that you want to protect.
Click the File tab.
Click Info.
Click Protect Document.
Click Encrypt with Password.
In the Encrypt Document dialog box, enter a password in the New password box.
Enter the password again in the Reenter password box.
Click OK.
Click Save.
Your document is now password protected. When you open the document again, you will be prompted to enter the password.
