Stock Posting T-Code MB1C
Stock Posting with SAP Transaction Code MB1C
The SAP transaction code MB1C is used for "Other Goods Receipts" in Materials Management (MM). It allows you to post goods receipts that are not related to purchase orders or production orders.
Common Uses of MB1C
Initial Stock Upload: When implementing SAP, you can use MB1C with movement type 561 to upload the initial stock balances for your materials into the system.
Miscellaneous Goods Receipts: You can use MB1C to post goods receipts for items not tied to a purchase order, such as found materials, free samples, or goods received without a formal purchasing process.
Stock Adjustments: MB1C can be used to make manual adjustments to stock levels due to discrepancies identified during physical inventory counts or other reasons.
How to use MB1C
Enter Transaction Code: Start by entering MB1C in the SAP command field.
Enter Movement Type and Organizational Data: On the initial screen, enter the appropriate movement type (e.g., 561 for initial stock upload), plant, and storage location.
Enter Material and Quantity: Next, enter the material number and the quantity you want to post.
Save: Click the Save button to post the goods receipt.
Important Considerations
Authorizations: Ensure you have the necessary SAP authorizations to use transaction code MB1C.
Movement Types: Choose the correct movement type for your specific scenario.
Accounting Impact: Be aware that MB1C postings affect financial accounting ledgers.
Documentation: Maintain proper records of MB1C transactions for traceability and auditing.
MB1C vs. MIGO
While MB1C focuses on "other goods receipts", MIGO is a more comprehensive transaction code for all goods movements (receipts, issues, transfers).
Note: In SAP S/4HANA, MB1C is considered obsolete and MIGO should be used instead
