This episode wraps up my incredible journey through the mountains of Lesotho, a ride filled with breathtaking landscapes, unexpected challenges, and moments of reflection.
From the high altitude passes that played tricks on my fuel consumption, to the unexpected roadside petrol stops where the fuel was literally measured with the eyes, this ride reminded me that adventure riding is never predictable. At one moment the tank looked fine… the next moment the bike was telling a very different story.
After navigating those mountain fuel challenges, the journey continued to Abuntu Run in Hlotse, where riders gather after exploring the Lesotho highlands. It was the perfect place to pause, connect with fellow adventurers, and reflect on what the mountains had just put us through.
But every adventure has its own rhythm. On the ride back, when the group pushed for speeds that didn’t match the reflective mood I was in, I made the choice to slow down and ride alone. Sometimes the best part of the journey is the quiet road, the sound of the engine, and the time to relive every moment of the adventure in your own mind.
This ride wasn’t just about the destination, it was about the mountains, the people, the unexpected fuel stops, and the freedom of choosing your own pace.
