When you can't focus on epiphenomena or symbolic violence, the very physical and real violence often slips past you. When you think everything is about partisan loyalty, but you can't question what the incoherence of those positions is--you are someone's useful idiot. I don't whether I believe Sy Hersh's reporting on the Nord stream--it's sourced, but sourced--but I know the general media response and debate about it has been basically nonexistent. Rueter's just reported that the White House denied and didn't even follow up on claims or sources. Why is it only in New Politics that I am saying this? Why are people reprojecting a more coherent anti-war movement that has historically existed? Why do the constant response and five-minute hate make people MORE relevant but not debate and discuss the more important stuff? The answer I think is both systemic and unflattering.
