I review your HOME STUDIO SETUP! // Feedback Fridays [Ep. 1]
This video is the official announcement of a new series I'll be doing weekly on Fridays! Home Studio Feedback Friday's! Each Friday I'll review, rate, and offer tips and feedback on your home studio setups! I like to think of studio setups in 3 different tiers or levels.
Tier 1 - Mixing on headphones, everything in the box. This is the place that most producers are at. And that's not a bad thing either! I recommend purchasing a really good pair of headphones and a nice audio interface. This setup is all you need to break the billboard top 100!
Tier 2 - Bigger setup with monitor speakers. Maybe you don't have a dedicated space or any serious sound proofing/absorption - but this is the next step on the studio progression list. Not a bad place to be, but you have to be mindful of the fact that your untreated room may color the sound, even if you're using expensive monitoring speakers.
Tier 3 - Dedicated music studio in an acoustically treated room. This is basically getting as close to a professional grade studio in your house. This could be an extra bedroom with acoustic treatment on the walls, or all the way to a custom built floating room in your home. Just depends on your budget! The sky is the limit with this one!
