In this video, I evaluate the common issues people face when running Claude Code on a Windows machine. To solve this, I walk you through the complete installation and setup process from the very beginning on a fresh Windows system. I cover installing Ubuntu via the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), setting up the essential development environment with NVM, Node.js, and Git, and authenticating with GitHub using their CLI.
I then demonstrate how to install the Claude Code package itself, configure it for the first time, and integrate it with an IDE like Cursor. Finally, I explain how the WSL file system works and show you how to clone your repositories or move your project files into Ubuntu to get everything running smoothly.
