Quickly, visualize and measure inrush current with an IntegraVision Power Analyzer. Inrush currents are typically very large compared to the steady state current, but they don’t last long. The wide dynamic range of the IntegraVision power analyzer is ideal for visualizing and measuring transient events, such as the inrush current. To set up the power analyzer; typically you will need to use the 50A shunt, fixed ranging, a sweep time long enough to capture the entire event, and a level trigger, with single triggering. The device being tested should be fully discharged. Additionally, an AC source can be used to control the voltage phase angle, as near 90 degrees the voltage should be at its maximum creating the largest or worst case current.
