Cisco is updating the CCNA 200-301 exam in 2027, and if you are studying right now, you might be wondering if you should stop, wait, or change your study plan.

My take: do not panic.

The headline is that AI is being added to the CCNA, but I do not think AI is the biggest story. The bigger shift is that the exam appears to be moving toward more practical networking skills: troubleshooting, diagnosing, configuring, verifying, packet captures, PoE, DNS, and real-world network operations.

In this video, I break down what the CCNA 200-301 version 2.0 update means, why the current version still matters, what changes actually stand out, and why a harder CCNA might be a good thing if it makes the certification a better signal for real networking ability.

Are you trying to finish the CCNA before the February 2027 change, or are you planning around version 2.0? Drop it in the comments.
