Students of the University College of London conducted Masters Architectural and Historic Urban Environments field trip to Eritrea from 7-15 January 2020. The visiting group included 26 Masters Degree students and two professors from UCL.
At the experience sharing program organized with Asmara Heritage Project Eng Medhanie Teclemariam, Dr. Edward Denison, Professor Hannah Corlett as well as students’ from the University College of London presented perspectives on architecture in historic urban environments in Asmara.
Regarding their visit to Eritrea, the Students of UCL expressed impression that they were fascinated by the uniqueness of the history and cultural resources of the people of Eritrea. Ever since the inscription of Asmara into the UNESCO World Heritage List on 8 July 2017, international interests on the city and its architectural beauty have been increasing.
