Why Did They Ban Joy?

Catch and tie. Patrols, batons and handcuffs. Elimination of dancing, instruments and music. All to destroy happiness. Force and coercion, which is even more severe for women; in the type of clothing and even the color of their clothes. When you look at the city, you don't see any color in the cars and houses; gray and dark, like the color of the clerics' robes, monotonous and devoid of color.
Once upon a time in Iranian history, happiness was highly valued and cherished, and celebrations were organized to maintain and establish it. Why has it become like this today?
