Dog Eric on the run for years - Part 1
Eric, a former stray dog, was rehomed in Dortmund in July 2021 by the organization Silent Souls of Strays e.V. His new home was given everything he needed. Extensive counseling was provided, and all necessary safety precautions were listed in the adoption contract. However, Eric's owners apparently knew better and didn't comply. It all happened as it had to. Just three days after his arrival, Eric was on the run. Sightings quickly followed, and the organization searched for experienced helpers, found them, and made plans for remote anesthesia. But the male dog refused to commit to any feeding station. Months passed, then there were no sightings. The last report came in December 2021. Eric was missing. Not for weeks or months, but for years.
