If you want to determine in advance how a virtual body will behave in reality with regard to its deformation, the FEM method comes into play. This makes it possible to study the deformation behavior of solid models and derive the optimal shape from the results. This tutorial video uses tweezers to demonstrate how this is done with the FEM program Z88 Aurora.
You will learn how to create a surface mesh and which values are required for the FEM calculation. A manual simulation illustrates the effects and visualizes whether and how the part changes when subjected to force.
