Flicker Fix - Apple 30 inch Cinema Display
This is in regards to the 3 buttons on the righthand side of the Apple 30 inch display. They are capacitive buttons and are apparently well known for failing. Power, Brightness Up & Down. These monitors dont have On Screen Menus so thats it. Any other setting you would need would be in the "Control Panel" of a connected Mac so these buttons technically arent needed. Monitor is powered on when the PC is woken up.
Brightness can be handled by a connected Mac using the keyboard media keys or "Control Panel" as long as the monitor was connected via USB. On PC, I used "Flux" software (linked below) using the "Alt" + Page up/down keys. This does not interface with the monitor as it basically controls the brightness of the image being output by the graphics card so BEFORE doing this, you should set screen brightness to the MAX but yea, we are basically disconnecting that tiny cable so the monitor does not act up anymore.
