🔧 Modify iOS 26 Backup for iOS 18.5 to Restore on Mac：
Hold the Option key, click Go in Finder, then select Library.
Go to: Application Support - MobileSync - Backup
Choose the most recent backup folder (check by date).
Open the info.plist file with TextEdit.
Press Command + F, search for product, Change the version number from 26 to 18.5.
Press Command + S to save the changes.
Go back to Finder, select your iPhone, and click Restore Backup.
🔧 Modify Backup to Restore After Downgrade (Windows):
Press Win + R, type %userprofile%, and hit Enter.
Go to Apple - MobileSync -Backup.
Find the most recent backup folder (check the “Last Modified” time).
Open the folder, scroll down, and locate Info.plist.
Open Info.plist with Notepad.
Press Ctrl + F and search for Product.
Find Product Version — if you downgraded from iOS 26, it will say 26.
Change 26 to 18.
Press Ctrl + S to save the file.
Open iTunes, click Restore Backup, and select the backup you just edited.
iTunes will begin restoring and your iPhone will restart.
Once it’s done, your phone will be back to iOS 18 with your data restored.
