The Second Conditional - What WOULD you do IF? (Important English Grammar)
In this very important and short English Grammar lesson, we are going to learn about the second conditional and how to use the second conditional when you are speaking English. If you want to show POSSIBILITY in English and also talk about things you are THINKING about in your head, then you NEED to master the 2nd Conditional!
What is it?
The Second Conditional is always used to talk about things which are unreal (NOT REAL or NOT TRUE) in the present or the future. It is for situations that you are thinking about inside your head and IMAGINING if they could happen or not.
For Example. If I were a bird, I would be able to fly. Of course, I am NOT a bird, so I cannot fly. But I can IMAGINE what it is like to be a bird and to fly around everywhere. Think of the 2nd conditional as the IMAGINATION part of English grammar!
Imagine you have a super big house in a nice place....You can say.....
"If I had a super big house in a nice place.....I would be very happy!"
