The Planet That Never Stops Farting
Uranus and Neptune are often called the "gassy giants," and for good reason. Their atmospheres are mostly made of hydrogen and helium, but they also contain methane — about 2.5% on Uranus and 1.5% on Neptune.
This methane absorbs red light and reflects blue, giving both planets their striking bluish colors.
But here's the funny part: methane is one of the gases responsible for the smell of flatulence on Earth. If you could somehow sniff the air on Uranus or Neptune (which you definitely shouldn't!), you'd probably catch a strong, nasty stench.
It's not just the methane — tiny traces of hydrogen sulfide add to the rotten-egg-like smell. In short, Uranus and Neptune are like giant cosmic fart machines drifting through space!
