Changing the rear axle brake (HA) on the Audi A8 - [TUTORIAL]

Steps for changing the brakes:
1. After removing the wheel, you must release the handbrake, otherwise the brake caliper cannot be removed. Secure the brake disc with a wheel bolt to prevent it from falling off later. Loosen the caliper bolts and hold the guide bolt. The caliper can now be removed.
2. Carefully set the brake caliper aside, taking care not to damage the brake line or the brake piston collar. The parking brake cable must also not be under tension. Remove the caliper support after loosening its screws. To remove the brake disc, simply unscrew the wheel bolt.
3. Clean the wheel hub and grease the brake caliper guide pins. These must, of course, also be cleaned beforehand. The brake pad guide should also be free of dirt. Be careful not to damage the guide pin collars. Now check the brake fluid level before turning the brake piston back with a special tool. If your fluid level is also at the maximum, you should also siphon off some brake fluid.
4. Place the brake piston retractor on the brake piston and turn the brake piston back. The collar must not be damaged or twisted in the process. Secure the new brake disc with a wheel bolt and then grease the brake pad guide on the caliper bracket. The bracket can then be reinstalled immediately. Tighten the bolts to the correct torque.
5. Install the new brake pads after removing the stickers. Now place the caliper on top. The brake pad springs must rest on the caliper. This can be clearly seen through the top hole of the caliper. Now tighten the new bolts securing the caliper. Hold the guide bolt firmly, as otherwise the boot could be damaged.
6. Clean the brake disc with brake cleaner to remove any grease and install the wheel. Before riding, prime the brakes by repeatedly pressing the brake pedal and check the brake fluid level.
