Who is Stevie Wonder? A blind musician? A performer of several smash hits? One of the greatest soul singers of all time? None of these answers even begin to describe the career of this musician, or, for a moment, the most illustrious solo career in the history of the 20th century.
Wonder burst onto the musical scene, earned tens of millions, and won the Grammy for Best Album three times in a row. He composed, recorded, and played all the instruments himself. He made black soul the leading genre of pop music and infused it with avant-garde electronica, progressive music, and protest rock.
