Even in the 7th round of this match Canelo Alvarez looked frustrated.. because his punches didn't hit Floyd Mayweather.
Until this match ended with Floyd Mayweather declared the winner by a majority over Canelo Alvarez.
However, in a post-fight interview through a translator, Canelo Alvares, who suffered his first defeat in this match, admitted that it was difficult to defeat Floyd Mayweather, "I don't know how to hit him hard, we've tried to do that, but it's very difficult (said Canelo Alvares)
And in a podcast with Mike Tyson in 2021,
when Canelo Alvares was asked about his defeat to Floyd Mayweather in 2013, Canelo Alvares said:
''When I fought Floyd Mayweather, I was 23 years old. ''But that's how it is, I've been defeated.
But I need more experience, to be better and more mature, I don't consider that fight a defeat, but I learned from that fight.''
