The Summer Week That Didn't Go To Plan | Nicolas Fairford
This week has all the ingredients of a perfect summer at home... eventually!
It starts with a couple of small frustrations as I discover my neighbour isn't home (which means I can't use her outdoor tap to jet wash the courtyard), and after an unsuccessful trip to the garden centre where there seems to be a distinct lack of plants.
Thankfully, things soon begin to look up. I'm sharing the beautiful fabric I've chosen to reupholster my French bergère armchairs, making two wonderfully refreshing summer recipes, a traditional Spanish salmorejo and the prettiest lemon possets served in lemon shells, before the week ends on a very satisfying note when my neighbour finally returns and I can give the courtyard the thorough clean it's been waiting for.
