Covid-19 lockdowns and extreme inequality (1/4) - Joeri Schasfoort
The module considers the interactions between covid-19 lockdown measures, also known as non-pharmaceutical interventions, and high levels of inequality. The goal of this module is that at the end of it, you, the learner, should be able to (1.) explain how inequality impacts the effectiveness of lockdowns; (2) explain how inequality interacts with the economic effects of lockdowns and ; (3) review the effectiveness and impact of lockdown policies implemented to stop Covid-19 in the city of Cape Town, as an example for other major cities in the Global South that are characterised by extreme inequality.
