Fixing Supabase Realtime example for Let's Play With Realtime - Learn with Jason
Learn with Jason is an awesome show where Jason Lengstorf builds cool stuff in a live stream, often with an awesome guest. In one of his recent streams, Jason attempted to build a realtime application to make conference talks more interactive.
It didn't quite work, but he was so very close. In this video, Jon explains how to enable Replication on a table in Supabase, in order to receive realtime events - such as new inserts.
Additionally, Jon suggests a couple of performance tweaks to improve the subscription logic and improves the auth flow for users who have not previously visited the application.
