Transcript:

ESPN announced the launch date of its new streaming service - along with some big-time content you’ll get with it.

The company’s new service, also named ESPN, will debut on August 21,  just before the kickoff of the college football and NFL seasons.

ESPN also revealed some of the new content subscribers will have access to, unveiling a new deal with the WWE.

Beginning in 2026, ESPN’s service will carry all 10 of the WWE’s premium live events. Those include WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and the Royal Rumble. ESPN will pay roughly $1.6 billion over five years for the streaming rights to those events.

Disney also announced that the NFL is taking a 10% stake in ESPN. Part of that deal includes ESPN acquiring the NFL Network among other media assets from the league.

The new streaming service will cost $29.99 a month. There’s also an option to bundle it with Disney’s other streaming services, Disney+ and Hulu, which will cost $35.99 a month.
