Hi this is Chet. We’re going to talk about static pressure in your fan application. So static pressure consists of an outlet pressure minus an inlet pressure, plus a velocity pressure. For the purpose of this video, we’re going to not talk about velocity pressure because it’s typically negligent on most centrifugal fan applications. So we’ll focus on the outlet pressure and the inlet pressure. So the outlet pressure is the pressure that is required at the discharge of the fan to blow your air out of the fan. The inlet pressure is the negative pull required to suck your air into the fan from the inlet side. And that makes up your static pressure differential.
