Beware! While NCARB has officially dropped the 'rolling clock', you are still on a 'clock'! If you started the ARE in 4.0, you need to pass all the exams before the end of ARE 5.0. Every architect regiscandidate is now on a different timeline. And NCARB is no longer granting 6-month extensions if you have a baby.
If you started the AREs in ARE 5.0, you will only have unit the end of ARE 6.0 to pass ALL your exams. When will NCARB begin ARE 6.0? Nobody knows... NCARB has hinted that the next version of the ARE is being developed. I believe the pandemic has prolonged ARE 5.0. And they have also said that they will give candidates 18 months notice; which means you'd only have 18 months to pass all your exams in ARE 5.0
