How to Join Tables with Shapefile | Spatial Joining in QGIS | #QGIS Basics Class 6
About this Video
Spatial joining is a common operation in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) that allows you to combine two or more spatial data sets based on their geographic relationships. In QGIS, spatial joining can be performed using the "Join attributes" option.
With spatial joining, you can merge attributes from one layer (the join layer) to another layer (the target layer) based on their spatial relationship. For example, you can join the attributes of a point layer (e.g. a dataset of stores) to a polygon layer (e.g. a dataset of neighborhoods), to assign the store attributes to each neighborhood.
In QGIS, you can specify various join types (e.g. one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-one, or many-to-many) and different spatial relationship options (e.g. intersects, contains, within, etc.) to control how the two layers will be joined.
Spatial joining in QGIS is a powerful tool that enables users to easily combine and analyze spatial data from multiple sources.
