The final plan for the capture was as follows:
1. A group under the command of the deputy commander of the Muslim battalion, Marad Sakhatov, was to seize the tanks positioned in caseniers near the palace.
2. A group under the command of Oleg Shvets was to cut off the anti-aircraft battalion personnel from the air defense systems with grenade launcher fire, then use this cover to reach the installations and blow them up.
3. The 1st and 2nd companies of the Muslim battalion, as well as the attached 9th company under the command of Guards Senior Lieutenant Valery Aleksandrovich Vostrotin, were to block the positions of the 2nd, 3rd, and 1st tank battalions.
4. The 3rd company, under the command of Senior Lieutenant Vladimir Sharipov, together with the 2nd group of the 1st company of the Muslim battalion under the command of Rustamkhodzha Tarsunkulov was to be transported to the palace by the Grom and Zenit special forces in their vehicles.
