CodeX – Open-Source AI Native IDE (Beta)
I’ve been building CodeX, an AI-native development environment designed to make coding faster, smarter, and more collaborative.
In this demo you can see some early capabilities:
• AI agent that analyzes entire codebases
• Built-in task planning and TODO execution
• Multi-file code understanding and editing
• Terminal command generation from project context
• Integrated AI chat directly inside the IDE
• Multiple built-in themes for developer experience
• Local model support (DeepSeek / Ollama)
The goal of CodeX is to explore what a truly AI-native IDE could look like — where the assistant understands your entire project and helps you build faster.
This is still an early beta, and I’m developing it as an open-source project.
