USSR, 1977, Petrozavodsk. Hundreds of people see a glowing "jellyfish" with multicolored tentacles in the sky. The authorities remain silent (the Plesetsk Cosmodrome is secret). But a few months later, melted holes appear in the windows of city residents' apartments. Round, like from a laser. Who burned them? Surely not a rocket.
The Urals, 1970s-1980s. In Sverdlovsk, a woman sees a face in her window – a huge skull, eyes, skin like ivory. It stares for a minute and melts. In another neighborhood, an indelible symbol appears on a windowsill – a circle with rays. Children play with glowing balls that bounce off their feet, and then… PEOPLE ARE BURNED.
The Caucasus, 1978, a mountaineer's tent. A bright yellow sphere the size of a tennis ball flies inside. It flies from one sleeping person to another – each one screams in pain. Oleg Korovin is KILLED. The ball didn't act chaotically, but with SADISTIC DELIBERATION.
