I spent a month living with the Yawanawá deep in the Brazilian Amazon, experiencing their traditional way of life and surveying wildlife in one of the least-documented regions on Earth.
I did not plan on filming anything this trip....most days, the camera stayed off.
I lived, learned, listened, and took part in daily life. But everyone now and then i pulled the camera out to share their land and life with you.
When it was right, I filmed moments of their culture, traditions, and spiritual practices, including the three-day, sleepless preparation of one of the forest’s most sacred medicines. This is Part 1 of 3 - We will learn the preparation of ayahuasca (or Uni in their language). Involving an intense 3 days of no sleep and hard work before hand.
