Serious Sam: The Dark Island - Gameplay

"What the hell is this," asks you? "Serious Sam isn't obscure," you indignantly declare? Well, you're quite right, but there's more to the tale. This is not simply Serious Sam: The First Encounter, The Second Encounter, or even the largely overlooked console-exclusive The Next Encounter. Demonstrated here is a mini-episode known as "The Dark Island". It was ONLY released as additional exclusive bonus content in a repackage of the first two Sam games together called Serious Sam: Gold Edition. This means the only legal way to acquire this map pack was to buy it.
The map pack itself was not developed by Croteam, but rather a fan who somehow received the opportunity to create something for the Gold bundle. It features new textures, new music, and even some new Sam lines.
So, yes, "The Dark Island" is technically a somewhat official, albeit very obscure, entry in the Serious Sam lexicon. This really did come off of a Serious Sam game CD. Seriously.
