Zen Republic: An Alternative Vision for the Metaverse
In the newest episode of the VR & Philosophy podcast (#17) I am finally visiting Zen Republic HQ to have a chat with its creator: Thomukas1. We had a wonderful chat about Facebook / Meta's vision of the Metaverse and why there is a need for a decentralized Metaverse. How should this be solved? Blockchain technology. We smoked some virtual joints, discussed our first experiences with virtual currencies (RuneScape Gold and Partyhats), Thomukas1 held a spontaneous RuneScape concert, presented his newest blockchain-based game Zen Fighters, and showed me some of the wonderful easter eggs in Zen Republic.
A lot of fun stuff in just 40 minutes, if I was me, I would definitely pay attention to what Zen Republic is doing in terms of blockchain-based VR in the future. Luckily I am!
