A small selection of the photogrammetry models made by Will Andrews and Heritage Spatial.

Photogrammetry and laser scanning are two 3D documentation techniques becoming common in the cultural heritage sector. These models can help preserve heritage-listed buildings, document trench excavations and monitor changes in potentially damaged sites all in amazing detail. The list of uses for 3D models in archaeology and cultural heritage is extensive and the above does not begin to scratch the surface of possibilities.

The final model when combined with advanced measurement systems results in a high accuracy model that can be both designed from and preserve sites to millimetre detail. This is highly beneficial for archaeological excavations where the report will be written down the track, not immediately after the excavation. Models can be delivered to the client as a 3D model which they can re-experience the excavation in photorealistic detail and additionally as a site plan extracted from the model for GIS display and investigations.
