Tournai is one of the oldest cities in Belgium. It is known for it's five 'spikes' cathedral and it's belfry. The belfry of Tournai is the oldest in Belgium. The Notre Dame cathedral is famous for it's Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Both of these monuments are also UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Less than an hour away from Brussels, this charming small city makes for a perfect day trip. We visited Tournai on a nice sunny day and I fell in love with the city!
