This tutorial explains how to send a voice message on Discord using the mobile app. Discord’s voice messaging feature allows you to send quick audio recordings to friends or group chats without starting a live voice call.
First, open the Discord app on your device. From the home screen, select the friend or server member you want to send a voice message to. You can either find them in your friends list or search their username. Once you’ve opened the direct message chat, look at the bottom right corner of the text input area—you’ll see a small microphone icon.
To record, press and hold the microphone icon. If this is your first time sending a voice message on Discord, you’ll be prompted to allow microphone access; grant permission so the feature works. While holding the button, speak clearly into your device’s microphone. When you release it, your recording will be sent automatically.
If you want to cancel the recording before sending, slide your finger to the trash bin icon while still holding the microphone button, and the recording will be discarded. You can send as many voice messages as you like in the conversation, making it perfect for quick back-and-forth exchanges.
This feature is available in direct messages, group DMs, and certain server channels where voice messages are permitted.
