In DaVinci resolve, if you go to Clip → Freeze Frame, it will turn your entire clip into a freeze frame. If you want to just isolate a single frame in a clip as a freeze frame, do this instead:
Use the Blade tool to make a cut where you want the freeze frame to occur
Use the right arrow on your keyboard to move the playhead over one frame and make another cut with the Blade tool at this point
Right-click the resulting single frame and choose Change Clip Speed
In the options that pop-up, check off Freeze Frame
You can stretch out clip to increase the duration of the freeze frame
