I learnt React in one week for my dream remote job interview. I passed the exam, aced the technical questions... and still got rejected. This is the raw and honest story of the one thing that stood between me and my first developer role: experience.
In 2022, I went all-in on becoming a remote developer. I built a huge arsenal of certificates from Cisco, Pirple, and more. I mastered Python, JavaScript, and Linux fundamentals. I lived on Upwork, Fiverr, and LinkedIn. After months of silence, I finally landed an interview for a React JS position—a framework I had never touched.
This video documents my journey:
The 7-day challenge to learn React from scratch.
The DIY hack I used to solve a last-minute technical disaster.
The interview I thought I aced.
The single word that crushed my hopes: "BUT..."
The brutal lesson I learned about industry experience.
This isn't a success story. It's a real one. It's the story of how I didn't land my first remote job, and the heartbreak that followed.
