I would lean more towards Python, for no reason really. I don't use it. It just feels more relevant to current workforce markets
Absolutely C (since assembler wasn't a choice). After you learn C, Python can be the beautiful person who picks you up in a Mustang convertible when they let you out of prison.
Honestly, Python is too elegant and simple for beginners. Learning C first will give you a more thorough knowledge of programming languages.
if you have time you should go for c for strong fundamentals of programming if not then python is the OG
It depends on the learning style of the student. If you're a bottom-up learner (needs to learn details and form your on opinion) I say C. If you're a top-down learner (just want to grasp on a few high level concepts and don't mind the details) I say Python or any high level lang.
