Freemasonry is a philosophical, eclectic, impersonal, and constructive school, an individual path to truth, a doctrine, and a factor of harmony and progress for every man and woman, particularly for the society and environment in which they live and develop, and for all humanity.
Freemasonry has three unique principles: LIBERTY, EQUALITY, AND FRATERNITY. The specific way to understand and apply these principles is not predetermined, and each Freemason must seek and implement it personally. This requirement is not enforced through an examination or confession from one Freemason to another, but rather is carried out within the conscience of each individual.
Freemasonry is an initiatory society that encompasses different schools of thought and conceptions of life. Firstly, its initiatory nature means that entry into Freemasonry, advancement through the different degrees, and Masonic work in general, are governed by specific rituals or ceremonies that hold symbolic meaning. The effect, the experience of each Freemason, will be different in the face of the same ceremony, and that is precisely what is intended: that each one reflects and studies according to the needs of his personality.
