Removing LED Light Flicker (Rolling Bands) from Footage with in Davinci Resolve

In this short tutorial we show how to eliminate Rolling Band flicker from video footage in Davinci Resolve. This is usually caused by LED lights or other light/camera sync problems (like shooting NTSC in Europe).

Rolling Band flicker occurs for many reasons, but it's all because the lights in your scene are out of sync with the camera. This most often happens now because of LED lights but another common problem is shooting NTSC somewhere other than the US, or shooting PAL in the US. The camera shutter interacting with non-continuous light (i.e. flickering) creates the rolling band artifact. The light flickering is usually not visible to the naked as it's happening 50, 60 or more time per second. The camera can see it though.

In this video we go over how to fix this problem in Davinci Resolve using Digital Anarchy's Flicker Free plugin.
