Considering it is all F1 fans have had to talk about for the past two weeks, you probably already knew that Max Verstappen was taking part in the Nurburgring 24 hour race that was happening last weekend. The event in the Eifel mountains held at the track that Jackie Stewart nicknamed the Green Hell is an absolute classic of the motor racing world which got the recognition it deserved this year thanks in large part to Max Verstappen. The Red Bull driver was competing in a Mercedes AMG GT3, something which I’m sure his Ford partnered team absolutely loved. For F1 fans unfamiliar with GT racing, you might think that a four time world champion turning up at an event like this would all but guarantee a win but endurance racing is a different beast altogether and the Nürburgring Nordschleife doesn’t care who you are. It is a brutal beast that can’t be tamed, only survived, something Verstappen discovered last weekend. Today I’m going to check out how Verstappen’s race went and how his presence is changing things at the Ring, so don’t go anywhere.
