Rahul Patel, Synaptics on Strategy for Edge AI Growth
Synaptics announced a new family of of multimodal edge AI processors, the Astra SL2600 series, at its Synaptics Tech Day 2025, designed to enable a new generation of cost-effective intelligent devices that the company said makes the cognitive internet of things (IoT) possible.
EE Times Editor-in-Chief Nitin Dahad took the opportunity to sit down with Rahul Patel, President and CEO of Synaptics, to discuss the news, the company's strategy in edge AI, its work with Google, it's play in the physical AI space and some of the key target opportunities for Synaptics.
