The Alertus IPAWS Integration
Natural disasters, human-caused incidents, and technological emergencies are increasing in frequency, intensity, and complexity. FEMA has developed a modernized national system for local alerting, the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS), which provides public safety officials an effective way to alert and warn the public using the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alert System (WEA), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Radio, and other public alerting systems from a single software-based interface.
