Turn on CC! There's no speaking, but the CC is used as titling (and hopefully translated to your language — go to Settings [gear] : Subtitles : and select AutoTranslate).

The two effects used are separate so that they can be used in combinations with other effects — EVEN the Color Board if you like. Video Cleaner just adds a touch of sharpening and allows increasing (or decreasing) Color contrast (not luma contrast as much).

Color Balance does what it's supposed to do with a wider range of flexibility than the built in Color Balance tool allowing the "reshaping" of light as well as custom picking the color of light to be "subdued".

Both effects can be used for more than they were designed. Having them separate makes both extremely lightweight. Both effects can be used to replace LUTs for RAW footage (   • LUTs? We don't need no stinking LUTs!   and    • More: Who Needs LUTs?  )

If you are addicted to scopes, these will work just fine with the Video Scopes in FCPX.

This video is how I 1) sharpen/clean every clip I use and 2) color correct every clip that needs it.

Color Balance can be (mis)used to alter lighting for "looks" (just realize that to ADD a color, you must "balance" the OPPOSITE color in the spectrum — and again — best to use the System Color Picker.)
