Somerset Education Lab with Arts University Bournemouth
This summer at Hauser & Wirth Somerset we are celebrating our inaugural Education Lab in partnership with Arts University Bournemouth (AUB), open to the public from 28 May until 4 September 2022. The Education Lab is part of the gallery’s commitment to inclusive learning programs that instigate a dialogue between art, artists and a diverse audience. Designed to support students by offering a short period of professional experience in our Somerset gallery, the initiative gives visibility to creative approaches to collaborative learning and mentoring.
We invited six Fine Art Undergraduate students from Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) to join their summer exhibition season. Participating students are Clara Begliardi Ghidini, Jovita Bhengra, Charlotte Illingworth, Annabel Miller, Lisa Moro and Leigh Williams.
Inspired by the current exhibition, ‘Henry Moore. Sharing Form,’ students from AUB were immersed in the activity of exhibition research, planning and delivery; encouraging independent work while providing support and guidance through contact with the exhibition team and external arts professionals. The outcome is not only a curated multidisciplinary display of the student’s research and practice, but a space for interaction and exploration, activated by our exhibition audience.
